Lau Kong-wah


Lau Kong-wah, JP (born 22 June 1957, Hong Kong) is a former member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong. On 14 October 2008, Donald Tsang, the Chief Executive of Hong Kong, made Lau a member of the Executive Council of Hong Kong, filling the vacancy left by the resignation of Jasper Tsang upon the latter becoming President of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong. By the end of June 2012, Lau ceased to be a member of the Executive Council of Hong Kong.
Lau is vice-president of the pro-Beijing Hong Kong political party, the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong, and founder of Civil Force. He was, until 2012, the Chairman of the Panel on Transport in the Legislative Council of Hong Kong. In 2012, Lau also lost his seat in the 2012 Hong Kong Legislative Council Election.〔("劉江華墮馬市民熱賀" )〕
